At Adventure One surf school we offer lessons and coaching for complete beginners to intermediate and advanced surfers. Our lessons are run in the crystal clear waters of Ballyheirnan Bay in Fanad by our experienced instructors, who will ensure that you have a fantastic surfing experience with us.
Adventure One surf school is owned and run by Iain Gilmour who started surfing in 1982, and who has surfed in locations all over the world. Iain has for most of that time competed in surfing competitions placing in National championship finals several times both here in Ireland and in his Native Channel Islands. Our team of instructors has over 40 years surfing experience combined and they will take you from catching your very first wave to becoming a totally stoked surfer!
You can either have a one off taster lesson or we offer several discounted packages for people who’d like to do more than one lesson. We also cater for schools, youth groups, Stag/Hen parties, Social clubs, as well as families and individuals who wish to surf.
Being ISA approved guarantees our instructors are fully qualified ISA coaches as well as being qualified RLSS beach lifeguards and that the school is fully insured. The minimum age is 8 years old and all boards and wetsuits are provided./p>

Lesson Content »
Lessons will be 2 hours in duration and will be split into 3 sections. Firstly a small introduction about the boards and wet-suits used and some safety points. Then you will learn on the beach how to catch a wave in the prone position before hitting the water to try it out. You will not be going out above waist depth so you can get your confidence. After 20 mins of catching waves in the prone position we will go back to the beach where you will learn how to stand on the board. Then for the remainder of the class we will be in the water practising what you've learned. This lesson is designed to give a basic introduction to surfing in a fun and safe way so that you leave Adventure One surf school completely stoked on surfing.
